Introduction
The
AEC-6100 Compact
Board mini chassis is an ideal housing unit for system integration
using any compact card from our PC line of compact single board
computers.
The AEC-6100 special size of 8.66" (L) x 7.48" (W) x
2.36" (H) gives the end user flexibility in movement and placement.
This compact chassis is roughly the size of a lunch box, however it
still offers a complete range of functions. In the rear of the
chassis you will find most of your application adapters such as 4
RS-232 ports, 1 Parallel port, and 4 USB ports. There is also one
connector for your P/S 2 (mouse) & keyboard, ethernet, 3 LED
indicators, 1 reset button, MIC in, line in, and line out. During
the initial designing stages of the compact chassis, placements of
the internal devices were crucial. An exterior air inlet was even
designed into the roof of the chassis to reduce overheating. In the
front of the chassis there is a slot for installing and
retrieving a compact flash card that will offer a larger memory bank.
The compact chassis is built to house a 2.5" hard
drive,
however a floppy disk connection is also possible. Located on the
side of compact chassis is a removable panel, allowing for the
floppy drive cable easy entry on to the computer board. The
designers keeping the end user in mind at all times even offer three
types of power connection. Located next to the floppy drive slot
there is a tradition power terminal. A special reset button was
also designed in an easy to reach area located next to the power
terminal.
